Nope. It used to be important to my business, but I’m retired now.

Initially, when I first joined Medium, I was thinking “business”. Figure out what I need to write about to get lots of readers and make some extra cash.

But I’m retired. Sure, extra cash is nice, but not if I have to work at at it, and that’s what I was doing. Keeping spreadsheets, pitching to pubs, setting goals.

Yesterday, I shook my head and called myself a fool. I enjoy writing and I’m going to write whether there’s money from it or not, whether nobody reads it or three hundred thousand do. It does not matter: I like to write, I like that Medium has no ads, and that’s the end of that.

Spreadsheets are deleted. I am not looking at earnings and won’t know how much I made until Stripe deposits it and Mint notices.

It’s not my business. I’m retired.
