Shortcuts Complication on my Apple Watch

If you don’t already know, “Complications” are extra controls on a watch. My father’s old pocket watch had several extra knobs on it; those were called Complications. I don’t remember what they did, but Apple brought the concept to their Watch faces when they introduced the device. These are quick ways to get to things like Weather, Workouts, and many other tasks you may frequently ask of your watch.

The sucky part about Complications is that you may want more than you can fit on your favorite watch face. My fave face, shown above, has room for only three comps, and I want more.

Apple’s answer has been faces like the Infograph face that packs the comps in like sardines in a can:

That, combined with larger watches, answers the problem for those with girder-sized wrists.

I prefer my 40 mm watch. I prefer a particular Activity face. Having only three Complications on that face, although definitely a fussy person first-world problem, has annoyed me. I have added extra faces (you can side-swipe to…
