Not “wrong”, but earnings do wax and wane. Sometimes it’s our fault — our titles were not good, our openings didn’t grab attention. Sometimes our regular readers found better things to do for a while. Maybe we became repetitive and they took a vacation, or the weather was too nice to stay inside.

Whatever. It fluctuates and when it does, people writing here react far more than they should.
