Now You Can Add Stops in IOS Maps Directions

And CarPlay will soon have this feature too

So there you are, heading to wherever, with Apple Maps guiding the way. Suddenly you realize that you will need gas. Sure, you could just pull off at the next exit, but that might not be the smart thing to do. The gas station at that exit might be ten miles away but taking the next exit after two miles later would give you a gas station only one hundred feet from the off-ramp.

Then there’s the matter of which gas to get. Maybe you get a better discount at Mobil, or maybe you want All Town because your toll transponder makes that so much easier.

With the new Apple Maps, all this becomes so easy. Pull over for safety, then pull down at the bottom of the screen and add a stop. You’ll get a screen that looks something like this:

Or don’t pull over: use Siri to “Add a stop”.

Oops, don’t, because that doesn’t work. Either does “Take me to a gas station” or “Find gas”. The first one doesn’t work at all and the others work but want to end navigation to your original destination. The last two do…
