Part of the problem is vocabulary. I worked at an Apple store for four years after I closed my business. Every day dozens of people would come in saying they needed a “charger”. We would always have to ask if they meant they needed the cable, which was almost always the case.

So when they read ‘no charger’, of course they think ‘no cable’.
