People do tend to protect the income stream they know, but it is more than annoying when they are talking out of an empty hat.

I'll confess that most of my life I supported myself and my family with Unix, and I did see things through that lens at times. When Apple switched to Intel, I bought in because of the Unix underneath.

But.. MacOS won me over. Too late in my career to make it my income generator, but Apple and the whole ecosystem took over my personal life.

I'm retired now. I just traded in a 8 month old Mac Mini and a two year old iPad pro for a base model M1 Air.
