Rumors of an Inexpensive Apple TV Box

But how?

This all came from Ming-Chi Kuo tweeting that about a cheaper Apple TV model. You may have seen the text:

“Apple will launch a new version of Apple TV that improves cost structure in 2H22. I think that Apple’s aggressive strategy of integrating hardware, content, and service amid the recession will help close the gap with its competitors.”

Most of stories I have read or listened to about this think this is a great idea, but I’m not sure that they have thought about it enough. I’m not even sure Apple has thought it through.

There’s no doubt that the current Apple TV box is too expensive. Even if you agree that it is the best streaming box of all, it’s still too much money. I have quite a few quibbles with it, but even if all those were fixed, the price would still be too high.

I do like our Apple TV box, but there are things that annoy me.
