So Jessica should put her stuff in her own publication (or in a few of her own if she doesn't focus that tightly), shouldn't she?

That's how I see it. I don't subscribe to big, unfocused publications because I may only like a few of the authors.

Not that my writing matters to anyone, but for whatever it's worth, I don't want to be mixed in with hundreds of other writers, so I use my own lonely publications now.
