Sorry, ChatGPT, I Don’t Think You Are Very Good at Writing Stories
No offense meant, of course
Shortly after I joined Medium, I wrote a short sci-fi story. It never got many views and it never made any money at all, which didn’t surprise me much because I had almost no followers then. Nor was it such a great tale; I just dashed it off one afternoon.
I re-read that story recently, shrugged my shoulders, and thought “Hey, maybe ChatGPT can polish this turd.”
I have heard other people say that they had good results doing that, albeit with some human polishing after the Chat buddy did its work, so why not give it a whirl? If nothing else, maybe it could give me a better ending, as I felt my version left a bit to be desired in that department. So, I pasted in my story and asked the brainy one to do a rewrite. Here is what it gave me.
After the first virus, my life changed. I suppose life changed for everyone to one degree or another, but for me it was much more than I expected.
