Strange Bedfellows: Should I Use a Screen Protector on My iPhone 14?

I probably won’t, but should I?

--

Strange bedfellows indeed

My phone and my pocket knife cohabitate my right-hand pants pocket in warm weather. Once it’s cold enough to wear a jacket, the phone gets to live in a jacket pocket instead. That’s a somewhat nomadic life: it might be in my right coat pocket, the left, or an inside pocket if the jacket I’m wearing has one. I’m not a stickler for tradition when it comes to berthing my phone.

The phone is not always out of danger from hard metal objects. If it is in my right coat pocket, my keys may join it. They are a boisterous bunch; I don’t think my phone likes their incessant, restless jostling. But men carrying pocketbooks are targets for juvenile ribbing, ribbing I can only put up with when I am with my wife. If it’s her pocketbook I am lugging, I can point at my beautiful bride and retort, “Yes, but look what comes with it!”

But my phone is still suffering with my keys, so you can see why the phone might think it is in an abusive relationship.

Indeed, it has suffered a few scratches. I wrote about that two years ago when it was still a bright-eyed youngster, eager to demonstrate its skills.
