Sure. I have no doubt that Medium has been targeted in this way. There is a lot of money to be skimmed.

But what about the less mechanical gaming? What about the Facebook/Slack/Discord/Whatever groups that encourage incestuous promotion within their circles? That steals money from legitimate writers too. Medium doesn’t seem to care about that.
