I’m Done With Apple’s Shortcuts and It Could Get Much Worse

I really thought Apple’s Shortcuts would be a good tool. I recognized its frustrating interface and its limited power, but because I was able to do a few useful things with it, I had hope.

Well, done-ish. That is, I do have a few Shortcuts that I regularly use. I’ll continue to use those until something better comes along. But I’m not going to waste any more of my time struggling with this ridiculous too.

What’s wrong with Shortcuts? I’m happy to tell you; how much time do you have? Yeah, it’s that bad.

The Language

If you can call it that. If it has any firm structure, that has remained hidden from me. I usually can’t tell what sort of data something will give me. Is it a list? A structure? A boolean? Do I need another variable to hold it or can I point back…
