The stupidity still exists.

We bought a funny little Halloween sign to hang on our door. It was a witch on a broom with lettering "Spells cast, fifty cents".

A passing neighbor saw it and told me that it wasn't good to joke about such things. I thought she felt it was politically insensitive and was ready to take it down.

Oh, no. Witches are the Devil's companions, she told me. My soul was at risk!
