Umm, yes, our stocks did drop, but I didn’t sell, and they recovered nicely. Of course, we had enough income to not need the stocks — and still do not. We are old enough to have to make withdrawals from our retirement accounts, but we only take the required minimum and do not need all of that. We don’t touch our stocks unless we need major house repairs.

We live simply. No cruises, one car, eat out only when we have to, eat whole, unprocessed foods almost always, very little meat, and so on.

We see other seniors spending money extravagantly. Maybe they can afford to. But maybe they shouldn’t.
