We do not all become more conservative as we age. I was much more conservative when I was young.

I am 72, and grew up in an upper middle class family. I thought government wasted our taxes because that’s what my father taught me.

I learned better as I experienced the world. Like your dad, I have little formal education, but I have read widely, and my consulting business exposed me to many other business owners of all sizes and their employees.

Today I am a proud liberal progressive because my life and my reading fed my compassion for others. That is the bedrock of my politics: compassion.
