We moved after 32 years from the home where we raised our kids. I was worried that my wife would fall down the stairs as her health deteriorated, so we moved to a one story ranch in a retirement community. As it happened, she has fallen multiple times anyway, breaking bones, adding to her pain, so I guess we might just as well have stayed where we loved :(
