When I worked at an Apple Store after I retired from my business, I would get people who had received email saying Apple had charged their credit card some large amount of money and they should click on this link if they thought it was incorrect.

They said they knew better and came to the store :)

No, invariably they never thought of that. So they would call then and of course it was nonsense.
