While email followers are a better metric than followers, many of those also apparently never read anything we write.

I have suggested to Medium that they should auto-unfollow people who haven't read anything of ours for say 3 months - or at least put them in separate lists: active and inactive followers.

This would solve SO many problems, including spam accounts.

Medium of course responded with their usual cheery "Great idea" which is pure B.S.
