Why do you assume she and her friends were not aware of the disadvantages of Android?

I’m pretty sure that “Samsung,” in this context, stood in for all non-Apple phones. This student was probably unaware of the existence of the Pixel or the OnePlus; they likely didn’t exist in her imagination. I’d imagine that she could count on one hand the number of kids in her circle who didn’t have an iPhone.
