Will Apple’s Rumored AR/VR Headset Be a Boondoggle?

Maybe not; it all depends on the software

If the rumored $3,000 Apple Headset (iHead? Naw!) looks anything like the picture above, it’s easy to imagine egg splashed all over those goggles. However, Apple has hinted at something smaller and lighter. It would need to be extremely light for extended use, and the battery life is likely to be on the short side anyway.

So, major flop, great embarrassment for Apple, lots of snickering from the Apple haters. Bring on the popcorn!

Yeah, this first model is not likely to be something I’d shell out the rumored $3,000 for. Yet…

What if it could replace my MacBook Air, my iPad, my iPhone, and my Apple TV?

Did that get your attention? Three grand doesn’t look like so much moolah, does it? In fact, depending upon computing power and assuming good battery life or a charging tether, it might even start to look like a bargain. Let’s take an imaginary spin with this on our head.
