Medium's challenge, however, is to maintain reinforcement for its writers rather than entirely denying it for some. If many never get positive reinforcement (boost/reach/praise), they’re more likely to give up.

Yeah, maybe the old “selected for distribution” was better.
But.. Medium has been appointing more nominators. Presumably that will translate to more Boosts?
