Yes, something like that happened to me years ago when Slack was very popular. In my case, someone cut a sentence out without context, posted it on Slack, and tore me apart.

Of course almost no one bothered to read the sentence in context. They, thousands and thousands of them, just jumped on me and kicked me again and again.
