You've done more than that: you are in the top 1,000 Medium writers. We don't know exactly why, but maybe we can get some insight from this:

I wrote 19 stories in April and earned $22.00. No bonus. In May, I wrote 22 stories but 4 took off and I earned $808.00 plus the $500 June bonus.

So we know money matters, but you don’t need a lot: $100 was enough for you to be in the top 1,000.

Followers: you have maybe 200 or so more than I do now. At the end of May I had gained about 100 or so.

Comments? I made 411 in May, that’s probably typical. I don’t know how many times I clapped or was clapped for, but probably not much different than in April.

If we had more data, we could make some guesses about what it took to get the bonus. However, that will surely change this month as everyone figures will be different.
